Our philosophy of Collaboration, Commitment, Success is clearly evident in our pre-screening process. We collaborate with you and with third-party professionals to help you determine whether or not egg donation is right for you.

While many agencies rely solely on the clinic to screen donors, Prospective Families has a multi-level pre-screening process that includes the Donor Profile, the in-person interview and the psycho-social evaluation.

The first step in your application is the completion of a 27 page Donor Profile; our profile is one of the most comprehensive in the industry and its components were inspired by many meetings with the nation's top clinics and influenced by what the clinic's egg donor teams told us was important for them to know about the you. In addition to clinic driven inquiries, the Donor Profile incorporates a federally mandated infectious disease questionnaire.

If, after careful review of the Donor Profile, it seems that the process is appropriate for you, our next step is to meet with you. We find the in-person interview a valuable tool in understanding what motivates you to consider egg donation and we will not work with any donor who is unable to meet with our staff.

Lastly, our collaboration with a highly-credentialed and experienced team of psycho/social professionals allow you to meet with a mental health professional and explore whether or not egg donation is appropriate for you to pursue. To that end, you will not only meet with a social worker or psychologist but you will also be administered the Minnesota Multi-Phasic Personality Inventory. When presenting you to the for clinic acceptance into their program, we will forward to recipient's physician a report from your meeting with the psychologist or social worker as well as the evaluation of the MMPI. While the intention of the meeting with a mental health professional is to complete the pre-screening process, we offer this service as an opportunity for you to explore, from an emotional and psychological perspective, any concerns or curiosities you may have about the process.

Prospective Families pre-screening is what allows our clients and donors to be poised for the greatest chance of success.

While Prospective Families is committed to supporting you through-out the cycle process, there are several instances where we will provide a specific service. The first will be to refer you to an attorney who is experienced in donor's rights who will advocate for you in the drafting of the Egg Donor Agreement. Another service we will provide is to coordinate with the Escrow Manager to be sure that your compensation is timely and accurate and we will, if necessary, coordinate any travel arrangements for the completion of the cycle. In addition to these services, if you are in need of a companion to accompany you to the retrieval and do not have someone you can bring along, Prospective Families will arrange for an agency appointed companion who is familiar with the needs of an egg donor post-retrieval.

If there are any needs that you may have in addition to those addressed above, please feel free to let a Prospective Families staff member know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
